Community Dance Residency
During a multi-year partnership with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts gave young people the opportunity to study with principle dancers including Fabian Barnes, Karen Brown and Lowell Smith and perform on stage with the DTH. Taped over a year of auditions, interviews and classes in the community, lecture demonstrations, teacher workshop, press conference and master class with Arthur Mitchell, Founder & Artistic Director of Dance Theatre of Harlem. An 8-minute public relation tape was narrated by Ruby Dee and introduced by Directors James Wolfensohn and Lawrence Wilker in later version.

Dance Exchange: Teen Exchange
"Mission: Mall/Mall: An Artistic Investigation" was a summer teen intensive program in partnership with the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum. Directed by Liz Lerman Dance Exchange member Elizabeth Johnson with Marvin Webb, Stephen Clapp and Artistic Advisor Celeste Miller. Teens developed dances and script to perform in the Ring Auditorium at the Hirshhorn Museum and various locations in the Sculpture Garden. A seven minute demo tape was made to raise funds for subsequent programs.

A Tribute to the 1996 Presidential Scholars
Profiles of five of the 120 Scholars recognized by the Presidential Scholars Foundation taped in Washington, D.C., New York, Florida, Ohio and Nevada. Directed live feed cameras and Roll-ins during a ceremony at The Kennedy Center Concert Hall directed by David Humphries. Eva Rolf was a member of the New York CIty Ballet taped in a performance of Swan Lake at Lincoln Center and rehearsing at American Ballet Theater studios.

Dancing Toward Literacy
Documentation of a semester program integrating dance and literature at Hart Middle School in Anacostia, D.C. funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Implemented by Lorraine Speigler and Kirsten Gamb of the Washington Ballet in partnership with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Education Department, D.C. Public Schools and D.C. Commission on the Arts & Humanities. The program included sessions with Melvin Deal, visits to The Kennedy Center, testing components and a workshop for teachers at the Washington Ballet.

Arts Enterprise Zone
A series of programs for D.C. public elementary, middle and high school students provided through a multi-year partnership between The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Education Department, Washington Performing Arts Society, Levine School of Music and the Washington Parent Group Fund. Visiting artists included Aisha Kahlil of Sweet Honey in the Rock, former Metropolitan Opera tenor Charles Williams, Savion Glover, Winton Marsalis, National Dance Institute directed by Jacques D'Amboise, and many others. Material gathered during one year was edited into a demonstration tape narrated by Andrea Roane of WRC-TV.
