Setting the Scene
Imagery for projection during theatrical and live events, and companion pieces for museum and gallery exhibition. Live switching and timing of projections, producing and coordinating presentation with stage manager, technical director and lighting designer. Material may be drawn from original or archival film, video, stills and animation to add visual impact and interpret the scene at hand.
ARTtv produced projections for the Dance Institute of Washington "Spirit of Kwanzaa" concerts at The Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Two screens were active during the two hour stage show with roll-in sequences and stills to accompany performances by guest artists such as Dance Theatre of Harlem dancers and readings of Harlem Renaissance poetry." Past productions include: Words We Whisper at Dance Place, Washington, DC - filmed in Boston with choreographer Peter DiMuro; The Miser at Arena Stage, Washington DC - Play directed by Kyle Donnelly; Hamlet at District of Columbia Art Center - Play directed by Andrew Mellon; The Acupuncturist and Dear Neighbor at The Kennedy Center Terrace Theatre - Poetry by Silvanna Straw; Sun Drawing - 16mm time lapse film for traveling exhibition sponsored by American Association for the Advancement of Science.

The Dance Institute of Washington (DIW) htttp://www.danceinstitute.org/ Artistic Director Fabian Barnes was a principal dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem for 15 years before founding DIW in 1987. DIW serves underprivileged youth in the DC metropolitan community through dance training, professional performance opportunities and community programs. In 2001 DIW was a featured charitable organization on the Oprah Angel's Network. An ARTtv produced promo tape was among DIW''s press materials.
